With thanks to our friends at Corriepedia for alerting us to this fascinating fact.
Last Sunday's episode (Sept. 3 in the UK, Sept. 15/18 in Canada) was Steve McDonald's 3,000th episode in Coronation Street.
And it's quite a milestone.
The only other characters to have featured in more than 3,000 episodes are Ken, Gail, Rita, Deirdre, Emily and Sally.
Ken and Gail have also racked up over 4,000 appearances.
The first character to mark 1,000 episodes was Annie Walker in 1973 followed just a few weeks later by Elsie Tanner with 1267.
