Sunday Comments July 14

Naturally Gary will not hear of giving up the baby and won't understand Izzy's reasons but she's got a point. The longer Tina has the baby before they, maybe, get him back, the worse it's going to be. Gary is so single minded that he won't consider any other view but his own. I can understand him being upset but he can't accuse Izzy of not loving the baby. That's not fair but he realized she had a point. It's the right thing to do for the baby.

In spite of knowing how she'll react, Tommy finally told Tina how he really feels in no uncertain terms. He's hinted at it before but not said it outright until now. And when Izzy showed how she was willing to break her own heart for the sake of the baby, and Tina saw their heartfelt goodbye, Tina realized who really was the mother of that child. I gotta say, there was a lump in my throat when she broke down at the end.

Now that Tina has given the baby back, she and Tommy need to find themselves somewhere to live. At least Gary is officially the father even if Izzy still has to wait to be legally the mum. Tina's trying to distract herself by cleaning Rita's flat! Doesn't it feel like Gary and Owen are rubbing it in with Tina, buying drinks and celebrating under her nose when they must know her heart is broken. And why is Gary all pally with Tommy all of a sudden? I don't blame Tina for not wanting to move back into Owen's flat. Too much. Izzy is going to take some maternity leave. Can she get benefits while she's on leave? And does Tina get to keep the money after all? Gary and Izzy are all happy together again and yet still in Tina's face in the pub.

There's nothing of value on the camera. What now? How do we know it's a man, though? Sylvia thought they knew that now. I don't think Kirk would ever break in but now he thinks it's Craig and he really scared the kid. The morning after Roy tore a strip off poor Craig, all the cutlery was lined up on the tables! LOL! Now that was a clever trick but he still thinks it's Beth! And...Craig admitted he was already having nightmares and has done a bad thing. I maintain he knows something about Karl and the fire. They're dropping hints all over the place now. Beth really tore into Roy and even though Roy regrets it, he did shout and scare Craig and it was unjustified so he did have that coming. It scared Roy too.

He's also chafing at Hayley and Sylvia hovering over him watching his every mood swing. It's interesting that Sylvia continually instructs Hayley on what Roy is like though I do like her little insights into Roy's boyhood. Roy's setting up a CCTV system. I don't like that Sylvia told Brian about Roy's letter. It's none of his business and it only irritated Roy more. Roy does have a point, though, if someone was breaking in, cctv would be the ticket. Seems though, that it caught someone and it wouldn't be who Roy would expect. It was himself, sleepwalking as most of us probably guessed already.

He's gone for a walk through the Red Rec wearing his dressing gown. Imagine Deirdre's surprise but at least he's ok. Why did she take him back to her house and then ignore his request for a glass of water? Deirdre was totally oblivious wasn't she? LOL! This has thrown Roy for a loop even more. He really thinks he's lost his mind.

Where does Roy go from here? It's not as if he wasn't stressed enough, but add sleepwalking to it, and he's going to sink into depression at this rate. I do wonder why he never woke Hayley up when he would get up. She must sleep like a log! Hayley is insistent that his grief is behind it all and nagging him about it isn't going to help, Roy being Roy. He won't thank Sylvia for telling Brian and anyone else that wants to listen. Seeing a Doctor is a good idea, though.

The next thing David does is steal Peter's lighter and plant it in the Tilsley flat. Remember, he's got that copy of the new keys. He's planted a suspicious seed in Gail's mind and she's watching now, too. Now that David has planted that seed in Gail's mind, she's wiping the floor with Peter, literally, and making snide remarks to him and Leanne both. David is delighted that Gail now has her suspicion radar up. Now he's working on Nick's insecurities and Nick is falling for it.

Happy Birthday, Leanne. Nick found Peter's lighter and Peter gave Leanne a birthday card, and Nick's suspicions are running rampant, just what David hoped for. Sending her anonymous flowers was the icing on the cake. Gail and Nick are feeding each other's suspcion, I think.

I do like to see that Tim sticks up for Anna and got angry that Faye disrespected her mother. Faye is trying hard not to mind that he's not the shining example of fatherhood she hoped he'd be. Beans on toast. Again? I do like that Tim does try even if he's a bit rubbish at the responsibility side of things when it comes to food and laundry and homework supervision. Faye didn't get very far with that apology, did she? Anna tried to mother her a bit and Faye considered it meddling and was rude again and then lied to him. And now he's got to go away to work and he wants her to stay with Anna.

As expected, Faye decided not to stay with Anna while Tim is away and is setting up the lie and the cover story. They all know she lies and they all know what she's like. But they believed her anyway because they really had no reason not to. The Sylvia/Tracy interaction was great! Brian is a spare part these days without Julie. He doesn't seem to work on his own, does he? Ooh there's Mandy but she was little more than a non-speaking extra. Where's she been? They don't know what to do with her anymore and I don't think she'll be long on the Street.

Good heavens. Faye is blossoming! She's only been on her own the weekend, but all her clothes are dirty and smelly? Can't she run the washing machine? She probably does it most of the time anyway. Has Faye even been to see the baby yet? Jason has got back but Tim has stayed on working. That's not good news to Faye. Guess she should have swallowed her pride and stayed with Anna after all.

Why on earth would Norris pretend Freda's gift was from him when it was very easily caught out. Him trying to stop her calling Freda should have told her right there he was up to something. Nasty, jealous little git. Oh for heavens' sake Norris. It's a sprained ankle. She's not recovering from the plague. Seems Norris' anxiety over one or two extra sherbet lemons beat out his concern for Emily. Just wait until he gets home, though because his lie was exposed by Freda's get well note. I really wanted her to club him with that cane but it was only a few stern words in the end. And he comes over so childish and jealous.

Norris is worried about losing his home after Emily dies. He thinks Spider and Freda are vying to be in the will to get the house so now he's going to do it instead. He pointed out that wills can be used to show how one really feels about someone. You've just given Emily an idea and Norris, you had better start acting like a human being. Norris owns a shop. Can he not afford a flat of his own? Or even buying Emily's house from the estate? Emily is back on her feet and out of the house and she's ticked off at Norris. Rita and Emily whispering in the back room probably drove Norris spare, curiosity killed the cat and all that. I really don't see why Norris is so worried about being homeless after Emily dies. He can afford to buy something of his own. He does love Emily, though, really, as a friend of course.

Whose car was Gary driving? Must have been Owen's. All he owned was a van and Chesney has that. I laughed at Kylie winding up Gail about shoplifting. Kylie wants David to let Nick know she won't be in until later. This from a young person that lives their life by texting.
