British Soap Award Winners


Rob Mallard, who plays Coronation Street's Daniel Osbourne, has won Best Newcomer at British Soap Awards 2017.

The awards show took place on Saturday 3 June at the Lowry theatre in Salford.

Accepting the award, Rob said: “I want to thank the Barlows, the whole cast but especially the Barlows as you’ve made a space for me.”

He thanked his mum, who was in the audience, then holding up his award, he addressed his boyfriend Daniel Brocklebank in the audience (who plas Billy the vicar Mayhew).

Rob said: “Even though this is fantastic, Dan you’re the best thing I’ve ever taken home!"



Elle Mulvaney, who plays Amy Barlow in Coronation Street has won the award for Best Young Actor at the British Soap Awards 2017.

The awards show took place on Saturday 3 June at the Lowry theatre in Salford.

Elle is the eighth actress to play the role of Amy Barlow in Corrie. She took on the role from May 2010, replacing Amber Chadwick when producers wanted a better actress for upcoming storylines.


 

Kym Marsh, who plays Michelle McDonald in Coronation Street, has won the award for Best Female Dramatic Performance at the British Soap Awards 2017.


The awards bash was held at the Lowry theatre in Salford on Saturday 3 June.
Kym dedicated the award to her late son Archie in an emotional speech, saying: "This award I would like to dedicate to my son Archie and all those angel babies.


"Michelle and Steve's baby loss story was perhaps the most difficult thing I've had to do in my career," she continued. "It took us to places we didn't want to go to again but we did it because it's such an important story to tell."


Dolly-Rose Campbell, who plays Gemma Winter in Coronation Street, has won the award for Best Comedy Performance at the British Soap Awards 2017.

Gemma first appeared in Corrie in October 2014 and despite a rough start with a very troubled character, she's bloomed into one of the Street's finest, always guaranteed to raise a smile.
